I am such the hiker.  If a mountain exists, I’m up that thing.  It has been such a good experience for me to live within a literal walk to the mountains.  I can hike as often as I care to.  I live backed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and can easily get to those climbs, and I am a short drive to countless beautiful summits.  Two things happen whenever I hike:  I fall and I get lost.  Never do I get through even the most brief trek without toppling and losing the trail at some point.  I’ve come to accept it and expect it.  So, when Rani and I set out to hike from Pinnacle Park to Water Rock Knob then on down to the parkway entrance on Saturday morning, I knew falling was in my future along with a wrong turn or two.  We got an ice storm…
