With the Alaska cruise season quickly approaching for another year, cruise ships will become a common sight in Vancouver and along the coast of British Columbia and Alaska as the ships travel up north. In 2012, cruise ship passengers represented 57% of visitor traffic to Alaska during the busy summer cruise season. Together with traveling to Alaska via air and driving, out of state visitors to Alaska totalled 1.59 million.
Juneau is the capital of Alaska. Surrounded by water and located at the base of Mt. Juneau, the city is a great spot to get off the cruise ship and do some exploring!
